David Smith earned  a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston , Clear Lake . He has over seventeen years of financial consulting and financial services experience including over eight years in the appraisal of businesses, business interests, intangible assets and the computation of commercial damages involving corporate mergers and acquisitions, recapitalization, estate and gift tax, estate planning, employee stock ownership plans and for litigation purposes.

David earned the Accredited Senior Appraiser designation in Business Valuation from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. He currently serves as an officer/board member of the Houston Chapter of the ASA and is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Houston Estate and Financial Forum . Prior to joining Hill Schwartz Spilker Keller, he held positions within Bank One's Private Client Services group, Vaughan Nelson Scarborough & McCullough, ComstockCo. and Howard Frazier Barker Elliott.
