Erik Min is a Consultant in our Computer Forensics & E-Discovery Group in Houston where he performs forensic examinations and consults with clients on best practices in forensic investigations and large litigation e-discovery matters. He is an experienced analyst with in-depth knowledge of computer analysis, data recovery, and performing computer forensic examinations with a strong knowledge base of emerging technologies and practices within the industry.

Erik joins HSSK after over four years as an examiner with a national litigation consulting company in Chicago, Illinois and with supervisory responsibilities for their Virginia Lab. He managed the firm's evidence database and handed all incoming and outgoing evidentiary media as well as worked directly with clients to manage forensic investigations on matters involving fraud, embezzlement, harassment, intellectual property theft, and breach of contact claims.

Press Release: U.S. Tax Court Upholds HSSK Valuation in Stock Gift Case; Rules Doctors Must Pay Back Taxes and Penalties HOUSTON, TX (July 30, 2008) – Physician shareholders in a large medical practice in Portland, Oregon, learned a costly lesson last week when the U.S. Tax Court upheld a valuation made by Texas-based HSSK healthcare expert Don Barbo as to the fair market value of stock in a medical practice donated by the doctors to a charitable professional services corporation. The case is known as Bradley J. Bergquist and Angela Kendrick et al., Petitioners,v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue, Respondent, 131 T.C. No 2. It is the second court decision this year where doctors were denied tax benefits from donated medical practice stock or goodwill. Computer Forensics Expert Clint Modesitt Joins HSSK

Dallas, Texas (June 18, 2008)--- Hill Schwartz Spilker Keller (HSSK), a business valuation, litigation consulting and computer forensics firm, today announced the addition of Clint A. Modesitt as senior consultant in the computer forensics and e-discovery group. Based in the Dallas office, he joins the firm’s national practice.

Modesitt has over a decade of experience in information technology and as a forensic investigator, manager and trainer. He also has extensive courtroom and deposition testimony experience in both criminal and civil proceedings.

Previously Modesitt held the position of vice president of computer forensics for Lightstone Solutions (formerly Spinelli Corporation) in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he investigated a wide range of cases including computer tampering, cyber-stalking, embezzlement, fraud, harassment, criminal activity, network intrusion issues, and theft of trade secrets.
